Located in El Born and inaugurated in 1997, Baraka -Arabic word that means 'blessing'- is an interesting store that brings us closer to the most traditional Morocco.
Here we will find carpets, hand-carved mosaic tables, books, music - Andalusian, Berber, chaabi, Gnau, Sufi, rai…, the typical Moroccan slippers, leather belts and bags, tea sets, jewellery accessories... All the items have been purchased directly from the artisans who manufacture them in the souks of Fez, Marrakech, Safi, Essaouira, Chefchaouen, the mountains of Atlas or Rif.
Without a doubt, one of the strong points of the establishment is its wide selection of carpets and kilims, that includes wool carpets and rugs, buxeruid carpets –made of wool and recycled clothes-, and the traditional kilims, typical of the Middle Atlas and made of cotton, wool or a mix of both.
Also, with the aim to spread the Moroccan and Arabic culture, Baraka organizes the 'Baraka Talks', lectures with experts on the Arab culture, as well as exhibitions, book presentations and workshops on the culture of the Maghreb.
